Chopped Cheeseburger Biscuits
Chopped Cheeseburger Biscuits
A quick and easy ground beef dinner recipe your family will love!
I mean, how can you go wrong with chopped hamburger and shredded cheese stuffed into warm and flaky biscuits? It’s the ultimate comfort food for your picky eaters.
Not only is this simple meal insanely delicious, it’s super easy to make with just a few cheap ingredients: Pillsbury biscuits, ground beef, shredded cheese, onion, and a little seasoning. You can also serve it with your favorite burger condiments!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 (8 count) tube Pillsbury Biscuits
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 small onion (optional)
- seasoning to taste
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Divide the biscuits in half, and place the bottom halves onto the bottom of a greased baking dish (I used a 7×11 ceramic dish). Bake for about 5 minutes, just enough time to give them a head start in the baking process so that they aren’t soggy.
Step 2 While the bottom half of your biscuits are baking, chop the onion and cook in a medium skillet with little bit of oil for about 5 minutes or until they are soft and cooked to your liking. Add the ground beef to the pan; chop and cook thoroughly. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder (or the seasoning of your choice). Drain any excess grease from the pan.
Step 3 Remove the biscuits from the oven and top them with your beef mixture. Next, sprinkle about a cup of your favorite shredded cheese over top. I used a triple cheddar blend but colby jack or pepper jack would also be a yummy choice!
Step 4 Lay the remaining uncooked biscuits on top of the cheese. Place the dish back in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked through and golden brown.
Step 5 Enjoy alone or with your favorite cheeseburger condiments! My kids like to squeeze on a little ketchup and mustard.
These cheeseburger biscuits separate very easily once you pull them out of the pan if you want to add fresh chopped lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeño, ketchup, mustard, mayo or anything else you would normally enjoy on a burger.
